Lucy - 2019 Chardonnay
Many women have impacted Sigma Alpha Epsilon, the most notable perhaps being Lucy Pattie. While brothers across the country were leaving to fight in the Civil War, Lucy’s friend and SAE brother, John B. Kent (Kentucky Military Institute, 1860), was one of the last to leave. Upon his departure, he entrusted Lucy with keeping the records of the Fraternity safe until the war was over.
Lucy did just that and has been credited with essentially saving the chapter and keeping the fraternity safe. Her devotion to SAE was rewarded by being the only honorary female initiate in Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Her loyalty represents what all members should strive for. Lucy Pattie held SAE and our secrets close to her heart until the end of her days. Lucy Phenton Pattie (1842 – 1922)
We introduce to you Lucy. From the chalky soil of the Carneros region in southern Napa Valley, this gem exhibits lush green apple and bright grapefruit notes while dancing across your palate. This stunning wine is light and friendly with very subtle vanilla and pear blossom hints on the nose. Balanced fruit with tarte acidity makes this wine a classic example of Premium Napa Chardonnay.
